DR. RANJANA SHARMA

Dr. Sharma has done her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She has a few research papers to her credit published in reputed international journals. She has also presented papers in various conferences and seminars. One of her research papers was adjudged as the Best Paper at an Annual Convention held at Annamalai University.

After completion of her Ph.D., Dr. Sharma worked as Post Doctoral Research Associate at University of Detroit, Detroit, MI, USA of 10 months. She has also worked as Research Associate at Strohtech Inc. (now Apolife Inc.) a subsidiary of Stroh Breweries at Detroit, MI, USA.

On her return from USA she worked as Project Scientist at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. During her stay at IIT Delhi, she developed keen interest in Computers and registered for MCA. While doing her MCA she did various certificate courses such as Oracle and Real Time Information Technology, Visual Basic from NIIT, UNIX, C and C++ from ET&T, Java Programming and Advanced Java from STG etc. Besides she is also interested in web site development using ASP. She has about two and half years of experience from Real Time Information Technology and IGNOU in Software Development specifically in the areas of application development in Active Server Pages 2.0 using Visual Interdev 6.0 and RDBMS using Oracle with front-end Developer 2000.

Since joining AIT in Aug 2000, she is involved in teaching various courses such as C, Java, Data Structures in Java, DBMS, Data Mining and Software Engineering. She was having the responsibility of being Library In charge of the Institute Library for a few years after which she held the responsibility of the Examinations for a year. Currently she is having the responsibility of the BCA programme affiliated to GGSIP University, Time Table of the Institute as well as the overall discipline of the Institute. Besides, she has also helped in the admission process of the Institute. For her overall contribution towards the Institute, she was honoured with "Faculty of the Year Award" in 2004-05.
Her interests include music, traveling, computers and teaching.
