Dr. P.V. Dhamija is presently Emeritus Professor
at this Institute. He was formerly Professor in the
Department of Phonetics and Spoken English at the
Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages,
Hyderabad. He holds doctorates in both English Language
and English Literature and has vast experience of
teaching and research in both the fields. All his
academic qualifications are listed below:

He has a total work experience of about 40 years. His work
experience comprises over 40 years of teaching at graduate,
postgraduate and teacher-training levels, 19 years of research
supervision and about 5 years of administration.
While working at CIEFL, Hyderabad, he took special interest
in curricular issues. Therefore, he was asked to work as
a member of the Curriculum Development Centre for English
organized at the Institute by the University Grants Commission.
Besides, he rendered consultancy service to over a hundred
university, college and school teachers in respect of the
use of the language laboratory, producing teaching materials,
principles of teaching English and spoken English. And as
part of his extension activities, he gave 73 courses, seminars
and lectures at different academic institutions in the country.
He supervised research for about 19 years. He supervised
21 Diploma-level research projects and 10 M.Litt. / M. Phil.
and Ph. D. dissertations.
His publications include academic papers, books and general
articles. To be precise, he has published 14 books, 24 academic
papers and 50 general articles. He is a creative writer
and has to his credit 4 novels in English (the 5th one is
awaiting publication), two collections of poems in English
and one collection of ghazals in Urdu.
He is a member of the following academic bodies:
