DR. M.S. Mamik

Dr. Manu Singh Mamik is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta) (having done one year Executive Programme in Developing Strategic Skills in 2004-05) , Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Honolulu, Hawaii and Lock Haven University, Lock Haven PA, USA besides his Ph.D. in Strategic Studies and International Relations from University of Madras, Chennai and MBA in Finance. He has been the officiating CEO and Vice President as also Management Representative for an ISO 9001 100% Export Oriented Software & ITES Company in Gurgaon from 2001 to end 2004. He has been Professor and Programme Director MBA & MCA in MRCE, Faridabad in 2006-07.

 

He has travelled extensively in India and abroad visiting over 20 countries in Asia, Europe and America. He carried out research in very prestigious institutions like IISS, London; SIPRI, Stockholm; UN Library, New York; Brookings Institution, Washington; Library of Congress, Washington; and Stanford University, California; besides visiting many Institutions and Industries in South East, USA and India.

Dr. M.S. Mamik is also on the Readers’ Panel of ‘The Economist’, London UK, a leading international business weekly and is a member of the Computer Society of India as also India International Center, New Delhi. He is also a member of an Executive Committee of the Aravali Center for Art and Culture, Gurgaon.

He has presented a paper on “Business Continuity in the Information Age” at the Biennial Conference at the Asia Pacific Center Honolulu Hawaii USA in 2002 and has written a chapter on “Managing India’s Nuclear Security Environment” in a book by Foreign Service Institute/ Academic Press titled “India’s Foreign Policy: Challenges and Options” in November 2006. Earlier his contribution was of a chapter “Formal and Non Formal Threats” in Sage Publications book titled “Weapons of Mass Destruction: Options for India” in October 2004.

A voracious reader and avid photographer, he served in the Indian Navy till 2001 and took premature retirement in the rank of Commodore having piloted jets, helicopters and large multiengine aircraft and also sailed the seas on aircraft carrier, destroyers, fleet, tanker and patrol craft. He was also Deputy Director General, Defence Planning Staff and Deputy Director, Aviation Planning besides being Strategic Advisor to the Chief of Naval Staff as also was on the faculty of Defence Services Staff College from 1987 to 1991. He was awarded Sword of Honour, General Lentaigne Medal for best Dissertation in M.Sc. and Commodore Nott Essay Prize twice besides Governor of Kerala Trophy for best helicopter pilot.
