DR. G.S. Mamik

Dr. Gurdarshan Singh Mamik did M.A. in English, and then professional Diplomas in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Personal Management – all from UK. He was selected to join Oberoi Hotels as Assistant Manager in 1969 and rose to become General Manager. He worked with Oberoi Hotels for 11 years.

Between 1981-86 he worked as GM of the Centaur Hotel Srinagar, which he set up from the inception stage till the opening.

Dr. Mamik worked as GM with the Taj Group of Hotels for 16 years managing properties in Agra, Kerala etc. While working with the Taj, he completed his Ph.D. in English.

After superannuating from the Taj in 2002, he did some consultancy work, setting up F Bar Lounge in Delhi and Reorganizing a Resort in Gurgaon.

Additionally, Dr. Mamik has been training the Industry aspirants and entrants. His forte is his eye-for-detail, strategic planning with back-up plan, training, vocational guidance, effective networking and steering projects to operational profits without compromising on quality and with goodwill.
